TITLE:  My personal view of Christmas

Christmas time is special. Whether you like it or not , however much you like it or not, there's no way to escape it. You turn on the tv and it's there. You walk in the supermarket and the decorations and music reminds you of it. You walk downtown and the lights and the people, the shops remind you of it.

There are many things I like about Christmas, such as parties, the atmosphere and decorations, but what I like most are family gatherings. There are also one thing that I do not like: Christmas sweets, but above all, I hate crowds of people.

Christmas is the time of the year where I am happiest, becuase I get together with all my maternal family after being almost all the year without seeing it. To try to make Christmas a little better, I would eliminate crowds of people as I said before, and also take the last minute rush to buy gifts and food.

This year Christmas will be the same as every year; we will get together the whole family to have dinner and celebrate together the Christmas Eve and the New Year. I don't expect any special gift, because I think that the most important gifts, like family, aren't paid with money.

 I consider myself a "fan" of Christmas because it is my favorite time of the year and I would say to those who don't like it, that it is a party that we should all celebrate because it is a time to be with the people who love you.

Halloween, it doesn't belong to our culture, but nowadays it is consider as one of our local festivals, due to it has been around us for so many years.

I completely agree with the decision of still celebrating it in our country. One of the main reasons why I am on the yes side it's because this day bring so many advantages to the people: it promotes the family celebrations in which all the relatives hang out and stay all together in that night. They remember those people who aren't here any more and pray for them in a happy way. 

Also, the preparations for it give a lot of people the chance of earning more money during October. Shops take advantage of it and sell stuff related with Halloween. 

Halloween, it is such a funny night for children but even for adults. Everyone dress up as monsters and withces and costumes related with this horror night.

To sum up, I think this celebration is a very good way to have fun with friends an dfamily and also it helps our country's economy, so that's why I think we shouldn't remove this tradition from our Spanish culture.

The carnivals of Brazil, are a celebration that I have never been part of it but I would like to participate sometime.

From this festivity, I know that the whole population of Brazil dresses up in amazing costumes and for a week, they go out and don't stop dancing with each other.

What I find most attractive are the incredible costumes especially those of women and also the good time that they spend all together although not all people know each other.

To make my wish come true, first, I would have to get a trip to the country in February because that's when carnival is celebrated.

I would need at least 3000 euros because the plane ticket is very expensive and I would also need money to be able to make a costume like Brazilians one. I would go by plane and I would stay at my grandparents' home, who have lived there since they were childs. I would stay for at least a month, and when the carnival ended, I would enjoy the beaches and visit the whole city. Of course, I would go with my mum, because she hasn't visited her country or origin for a long time and I'm sure she would be very excited about it.

One dark night, a man was driving back home when he saw a young girl at the middle of the road. He thougth it had been an accident and she was hurt so he  got out the car to help the girl. She got in the car  but 5 ninutes later she asked the man to stop the car. The girl got out off the car and the man realized that the girl had left her scarf there. The scarf had his address written on it, so the man went to return it. When he knocked on the door of that old house, he told his parents that his daughter had left her scarf in her car and the parents answered that it was impossible because her daughter had died 5 years ago.

The aim of this report is to give my point of view about the High School whare I'm studying, including things I like and others that I would like to change.

On the one hand I like my High School because things like the exchange programs are fantastic as they are a good opportunity for the students to improve their English. My High School is bilingual so we learn English in several subjects, and this is alsoo good in my opinion.

On the other hand, I would like to change some things if I could. For instance, I would buy more computers and improve the science lab buying new materials. A lift is the most important thing because when a student has a problem to walk, or some disability, is very difficult go up and down stairs.

To sum up, I have to say that altough there are many things that must be changed, I am very happy with most of them.

Children's taste buds are not ready for bitter-tasting vegetables. In fact, most of us tend to like sweet-tasting food. Apart from bitter and sweet, our taste buds can only recognize three more tastes: salty, sour and 'umami'.  Food has to be slightly wet for it ti be tasty. When we smell food, our mouth produces saliva. Without it some uncooked food would have no taste at all.
